Infrastructuralism

Delible and indelible marks

About

The precise origin of Infrastructuralism is unknown.

Some say it is a protest movement associated with the rise of NSW Light Rail projects while others insist it links back to the early street-art tagging of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat in the 1980s. Both artists featured repeated numbers, letters or symbols as part of their NYC SAMO and Jetson tagging.

Examples of Australian Infrastructuralism can be seen at major intersections and at sites earmarked for urban renewal projects.
