The visitor

Corners and inescapable places

About

The visitor arrived unbidden and wanting blood.

It breached their veiled sanctuary, so they countered with wild swatting and readied an open palm for the death slap.

They embarked on systematic searches under full illumination. Defying them, and folded into invisibility by the gauzy shroud, the visitor waited.

Then, with wings flapping at 1000 beats per second, the visitor launched multiple offensives, its squeal ceasing only when proboscis entered warm flesh.

As morning broke, welted and weary, they wondered how protection had somehow become prison.
